Our

PHILOSOPHY

Our student organization which aims to address the challenges of shelter requirement and a habitat for community through a unique design built strategy where volunteers learn to explore, experiment and produce ecologically responsive and simple design solutions.

MOTIVE

We aim to experiment design as a catalyst for a comprehensive change in the society. Our design build process is enriched by the amalgamation of our practice with the real life scenario in the present age.

OUR STORY

We have had over 300 participants who have worked on several sustainable design projects that have helped build us our student initiative – CHHAT.

In order to reach out to the world, we want to join hands with people from diverse backgrounds who can contribute towards a sustainable future while also benefiting the lives of many.

Our vision is to create deployable modules that are versatile and capable of regeneration serving not only an individual but also large group of people facing the challenges of shelter requirement.

WELCOME TO CHHAT

CHHAT-Center for Human Habitat and Alternative Technology is a student initiative emerged through a teaching – learning process that aims to seek, impart and spread knowledge to design and execute for the real contextual needs. It addresses the challenges of immediate shelter requirement through designing universal building solutions.

STRATEGY

We tend to implement our motive through “Capacity Building Program” by involving more and more individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate in the teaching-learning process that takes place through experimenting and exploring various vistas of vernacular materials aiming towards low carbon future and sustainable habitats.
