With the ideology of giving back to the society students of Vadodara Design Academy have worked to provide shelter through a series of service-learning projects. Constructing a shelter for a Government school in Bil Gam, a village in the outskirts of Baroda city is one such attempt that would contribute to our philosophy to cater to the needy.

Students Help Local Organizations by Providing Shelter.

The school is a 50 year old small scale government hut with lack of basic amenities. The financial aid sanctioned by government annually is not sufficient enough to carry out maintenance and other requisites of the year. To fulfill their needs the school gathers funds from the Panchayat and NGOs.

Our college has volunteered to build a Bamboo Vault inside the school campus which would offer a flexible shade for teaching or dining purposes.

The construction would be carried out with the help of local craftsmen, students and other inhabitants through a participatory process. The intension behind involving students who wish to volunteer for this social cause is that they may develop a liking to experiment with ideas, continuing to do so even during their professional practice.
